Indian Ladies UK is an 40,000-strong community group made up of first generation migrant Indian women in the UK – representing the entire socio-economic as well as geographic spectrum of India. Founded in 2015, ILUK is a voluntary organization that supports and connects first generation Indian ladies in Britain and campaigns for the rights of NRI women living across the UK.

Indian Ladies UK is honoured to be associated with Harshita Brella’s campaign for justice. We hope her story reaches far and wide, leaving the authorities with no option but to act.
This morning our founder @poonamjoshiofficial along with Harshita’s sister Sonia Dabas were on Woman’s hour sharing the story of Harshita and the failures of the system that was meant to protect her.

Indian Ladies UK organisers a vigil for Harshita B

Indian Ladies UK organisers a vigil for Harshita Brella in Ilford today. This is the same place where Harshita was found murdered by her own husband inside the boot of a car. She had reported domestic abuse to the Police and was marked high risk and yet Police failed to protect her. Her husband Pankaj left the country and has never been caught. Her family’s fight for justice is now a multi jurisdictional matter and two years on there has not been much success in bringing the perpetrator to justice. #Harshita Brella #PankajLamba #Corby #Ilford
