Holidays at Costa del Sol – Relax at nature’s own sun coasts

Costa del Sol, literally meaning the “sun coast” lives up to the name with its warm temperatures and sunny days. It is not a surprise that many tourists from the UK and the rest of Europe flock to this Spanish destination for their vacations.

Suitable for everyone

Costa del Sol is an ideal place for any type of holiday, whether it is for families or for the solo traveller. The region offers an extensive selection of relaxation options and activities. Some of these include safari parks, fishing trips, water parks, white washed villages, a zoo, amusement parks and tons of water sports.

Connectivity

The local authorities have invested quite well in the infrastructure for tourists. The Malaga airport is one of the most modern airports in Spain. The main traffic at the Malaga airport is generated from the flights which come from UK to Costa de Sol. Most of the travellers are from cities like Dublin, Manchester and London.

Family accommodations

The warm climate of Costa de Sol makes it easy for travellers to visit it at any time of the year. The peak season is during the months of July and August. The “Sunset Beach Club Hotel Apartments” is one of the best hotels in Costa Del Sol. Another good option is “Marriot’s Marbella Beach Resort”, but it is almost always booked.

For the backpacker

There are two great youth hostels – “The Melting Pot” and the “Hostel Interjoven Marbella”. The former is located at Malaga near the ocean and provides you with a homely and relaxed environment during your vacation. The Hostel Interjoven Marbella is located at Marbella, which is a city of historical importance. The building is spacious with terraces and gardens and offers a wonderful view of the ocean.

Offers and packages for off-season

Costa del Sol offers budget packages from September to June because of the less number of tourists during that time. The travel offers include 3 and 4 nights’ packages. There is no minimum duration of stay required for the packages and the reservations must be made 7 days before you arrive. However, it needs to be noted that none of these packages are available during the peak months of July and August. You can refer to the official tourism website of Costa del Sol for more information.

What to do and what to see

There is plenty to see and do in Costa del Sol. There are museums for a taste of history and there are golf courses as well for the people with a sporty mind. Some of the most popular attractions are the Balcon de Europa, Arabic Bathhouse in Ronda, the Gibralfaro castle, the Sohail Castle and the Malaga Cathedral. The Balcon de Europa, literally meaning “Balcony of Europe” was part of a castle which was destroyed in the year 1812. It provides an excellent view of the entire coast which leaves the tourists spellbound with amazement and surprise.
