I had moved out from my matrimonial home in Oct as I had found out my husband was cheating on me. I applied for divorced and finally my decree Nisi has been approved. Although I never contributed to the house, I have matrimonial right on that property. He has changed the locks of the house. I waited patiently 6 months to get decree Nisi and make financial claim but now I have heard through friends that he is planning to go to india and my solicitor suggests we can’t do anything as we would not have address to send the court order and likelihood is he would not even respond to them. My solicitor also told me that court gives you decree absolute after few months whether you make financial claim or no. I would like to know if there are any chances for me to get anything out of him as it is unfair that he cheats and smoothly runs away and will probably return back when final stage of divorce has been approved. I am sure he will put the place on rent and can smoothly pay his mortgage. I have to be careful about spending my money on financial claim if I have no chances.
