Travel tips for those who will be travelling to Swiss SOON
1.On arrival to Geneva by the plan,at Airport you can claim a free Uniresco ticket for next 80mnts for public transport in zone10(central Geneva area,including airport and most hotels).The ticket machine for the free tickets is located at the baggage reclaim hall.
2.Many hotels in Switzerland in big cities offer you free travel card if u stay 2nights or more ,these travel cards allows u to roam in local area by public transport (train,tram,bus,boat).
3.Swiss travel passes are the great option for travelling in the country.
4.If You r travelling with kids don’t miss the Chillon castel (fun to go with kids)in Monteux ,especially if you r a big fan of Bahubali(not like me)then the similar war costumes of bahubali and kattapa u can see here…..
5.Those who r travelling with kids (5 to 10yrs)then don’t miss the kids special train called Globi express from Lucerne to Engelburg…There are some Globi books on train as well as a unique treasure hunt game to play answers u need to find at every passing station(my daughter and me njoyed a lot)when U reach Engelburg station there u can hand over your answers to get some lovely goodie bag(lunch box with some cool things).
6.At every Major Train station U can find lagguage lockers with different sizes the big checkin trolley bags also can fit in it for minimum of 9 CHF per 12 hrs .
7.At every major train station or near by U can find a Migros super market (like Tesco )where you can get bread,fruits,milk,yogurt and juices for really reasonable prices.
8.At every public place u can find clear water fountains for drinking or to fill your bottles.
9.Dont miss the highest chocolate shop in he world “Lindt”at Jungfrau where the chocolates are not expensive (specially the chocolate Milk can) compared to the shops in city.
10.Do remember to check the the operating status of cables cars before U start to snow mountains.
11.For Swiss souvenirs(cow bells,jewellery,key rings) I felt some shops in Basel Airport offers reasonable prices.
